OKLAHOMA CITY (July 10, 2021) – Sam Webb, who spent the past three baseball seasons at Oklahoma Baptist, has transferred to Oklahoma Christian to continue his collegiate career, OC coach
Lonny Cobble said Saturday.
In high school, Webb, a pitcher, played for former OC standout Kolton Brown, who's now the head coach at Southwest Covenant School in Yukon. Webb signed with OBU out of high school and over the last three seasons, he's made 13 pitching appearances, posting a 6.35 ERA and nine strikeouts over 11 1/3 innings. He was a member of the OBU team that won the 2019 Great American Conference title.
While at Southwest Covenant, he earned Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State honors, hitting .479 with three home runs and 20 RBI while going 6-2 on the mound with a 1.40 ERA and 81 strikeouts as a senior in 2018. He was named to
The Oklahoman's Little All-City first-team that season.
He will have two seasons of eligibility remaining at OC.
