Davis announces OC swimming schedule for 2021-22 season

OKLAHOMA CITY (June 28, 2021) – Oklahoma Christian will host a pair of invitational meets as well as a tri-meet as part of the Eagles' 2021-22 season schedule, announced Monday by coach Josh Davis.

The Eagles will hold their annual Maroon-Gray Intrasquad meet at their home facility, the Edmond YMCA Recreation and Aquatic Center at Mitch Park, on Sept. 10 before their distance swimmers compete on Sept. 18 in the National Collegiate Open Water Swimming Championship at Lone Star Lake in Lawrence, Kan.

OC will serve as the sole host this season of the fifth annual Sam Freas Invitational on Sept. 25 after its former co-host, local rival Oklahoma Baptist, dropped its swimming programs. The meet, to be held at the Mitch Park pool, is named after OBU's longtime coach, who died in 2019.

The Eagles will be in Arkadelphia, Ark., for a pair of dual meets against Ouachita Baptist (Ark.) on Oct. 8 and Henderson State (Ark.) on Oct. 9. They'll then travel to Dallas to compete on Oct. 30 in a tri-meet against two NCAA Division I squads, Incarnate Word and meet host Southern Methodist.

OC will wrap up its first-semester schedule by hosting the second annual Eagle Invitational at the Mitch Park pool from Nov. 11-13.

Incarnate Word will host the Eagles for a dual meet in San Antonio on Jan. 8. The next Saturday, Jan. 15, OC will host NAIA opponents Arizona Christian and Ottawa (Ariz.) for a tri-meet at Mitch Park. OC will finish its regular season with another tri-meet, against Division II powers Drury (Mo.) and William Jewell (Mo.) at Drury's pool in Springfield, Mo., on Jan. 29.

The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships will be Feb. 9-12, hosted by Colorado Mesa in Grand Junction, Colo., for the third straight year. Should any OC swimmers qualify, the NCAA Division II Championships will be March 9-12 in Greensboro, N.C.
