Eagles continue receiving votes in Division II baseball poll

PEMBROKE, N.C. (April 28, 2021) – For the second straight week, Oklahoma Christian received votes in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's NCAA Division II poll, which was released Wednesday.

OC (23-11) received three points in the poll of a national committee of Division II sports information directors, up one point from last week. The Eagles, one of 33 teams to receive votes, were tied for 31st in the balloting, one spot higher than last week.

The Eagles went 1-1 during the previous week, splitting a Sunday doubleheader at Arkansas-Fort Smith, falling 12-9, then winning 9-8. OC's 6-5 win at UAFS on Monday wasn't included as part of this week's poll due to voting deadlines.

OC was one of five South Central Region teams to receive votes. All of the others were in the top 25 – No. 1 Colorado Mesa (28-2), No. 4 West Texas A&M (29-4), No. 11 Angelo State (Texas) (27-6) and No. 21 Metro State (Colo.) (25-7).

Before receiving votes in the poll last week, OC hadn't received votes in the NCBWA poll since April 1, 2014.

After their win Monday, the Eagles are off until next Monday, when they will host Southeastern Oklahoma State in a nonconference game. That is scheduled to be OC's regular-season home finale.
