OC women 8th halfway through ITC Sectional Qualifier

DALLAS (April 17, 2021) – The bad news for Oklahoma Christian's women's bowling team is that the Eagles will have work to do on Sunday to advance in the postseason. The good news is, that work is eminently doable.

OC was eighth among 12 teams on Saturday after the opening day of the Intercollegiate Team Championship Sectional Qualifier at USA Bowl, with the top four teams after Sunday's action advancing to the ITC, set for May 6-8 at the Spectrum Entertainment Complex in Wyoming, Mich.

Through 20 Baker games, the Eagles posted a team score of 3,466 pins, closing strong with games of 212 and 225. OC trails fourth-place Newman (Kan.) by 97 pins.

Wichita State leads the tournament with a score of 3,931, well ahead of second-place Stephen F. Austin at 3,770. Louisiana Tech was third at 3,753, followed by Newman at 3,563, Lindenwood (Mo.) at 3,540, Campbellsville (Ky.) at 3,524, Martin Methodist (Tenn.) at 3,508, OC and Morningside (Iowa) at 3,459.

The final 20 Baker games will be played beginning at 1:45 p.m. Sunday.
