OKLAHOMA CITY (April 14, 2021) –
David Scott will move into a new administrative role in the Oklahoma Christian athletic department and will step away from his duties as men's soccer coach, OC Athletic Director
David Lynn said Wednesday.
Scott just completed his 15th season at OC and posted a record of 91-136-22, recording the most wins by a men's soccer coach in program history.
In his first season with the Eagles, he was named the 2006 Sooner Athletic Conference coach of the year, and in 2012, OC's first season of competition at the NCAA Division II level, he guided the Eagles to what would have been a third-place finish in the Heartland Conference, had the conference chosen to count OC's games in the standings.
Scott, a native of Yukon, also served as the director of OC's fitness center until the summer of 2017.
In his new role as assistant athletic director for external relations, event management and facilities, Scott will be responsible for coordinating operational details for OC home athletic events in all sports, among other duties.
"I am excited for coach Scott to transition into this new role," Lynn said. "Our athletic department has grown more than 100 percent in the past five years in the number of student-athletes we serve and my goal is to make sure they are getting the best experience possible at OC."
Lynn said a national search to fill the men's soccer coaching position has begun.
