SHAWNEE, Okla. (March 28, 2021) –
Morgan Pelkie rolled three games over 200 and finished in the top 10 individually to lead Oklahoma Christian on Sunday in the Southwest Intercollegiate Bowling Circuit IV tournament at Firelake Bowl.
The sophomore from Sarnia, Ontario, posted games of 224, 220 and 245 and an overall six-game score of 1,265, putting her 10th in the 59-woman field.
OC freshman
Jessica Flanagan of Lavaca, Ark., rolled games of 222, 215 and 203, while
Sarah Young, a sophomore from North Richland Hills, Texas, had games of 201 and 205 for the Eagles.
Emily Tripp, a sophomore from Cabot, Ark., contributed a 202 game to OC's total.
Claire McDermott,
Abbey Parks,
Athena Walker and
Hannah Hayhurst also rolled at least one game on the day for the Eagles.
In the tournament – which consisted of six regular team games – OC placed sixth of eight teams with a score of 5,514. Wichita State won the tournament with a score of 6,446.
OC now will wait and learn if it's earned a bid to collegiate bowling's postseason for a third straight season. If the Eagles did, it's likely they would be assigned to the Intercollegiate Team Championship Sectional Qualifier in Dallas, which is scheduled for April 16-18.
