SAN MARCOS, Texas (March 26, 2021) – Oklahoma Christian's
Kelsey Castillo obliterated her personal-best time in the 1,500 meters on Friday night while running in the Bobcat Invitational at the Texas State Track and Field Complex.
Castillo, a senior from Edmond, Okla., placed fourth in the 35-woman field in the race with a time of 4:39.49, an improvement of more than seven seconds over her previous collegiate best.
Also representing OC in the meet was junior
Kenya Bailey of Ponca City, Okla., who finished 11th among 22 runners in the 5,000 meters with a time of 18:19.29.
The meet will continue Saturday, with Castillo scheduled to run in the 800-meter race along with teammate
Payton Duesing.
