GOLDEN, Colo. (March 15, 2021) – For the first time this baseball season, Oklahoma Christian has cracked the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's NCAA Division II South Central Region poll, debuting at No. 10 on Monday.

OC was 7-5 and on a four-game road winning streak entering its game Monday afternoon at Lone Star Conference rival St. Edward's (Texas). The Eagles are fifth in the LSC standings with a 6-5 league mark.

The NCBWA's South Central Region poll is voted on by a committee of 12 members, six from each of the two leagues that make up the region – the LSC and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference

Angelo State (Texas) of the LSC led the poll with six first-place votes and 108 points, while Colorado Mesa of the RMAC was second with five first-place votes and 107 points. West Texas A&M was third with one first-place vote and 101 points, followed by Metro State (Colo.) with 70 points and Texas-Tyler with 62 points.

Texas A&M-Kingsville was sixth with 61 points. Colorado-Colorado Springs had 58 points, Regis (Colo.) had 56 points, St. Mary's (Texas) had 20 points and OC had 16 points.

OC is 1-2 against both TAMUK and St. Mary's this season. The Eagles will host West Texas A&M at Dobson Field for a three-game series that will start Friday, following a nonconference game Tuesday at 6 p.m. at local rival Central Oklahoma.
