Pelkie 4th, Eagles 2nd at midway point of Hammer Lions Classic

ST. LOUIS (Feb. 27, 2021) – Morgan Pelkie earned her fourth career all-tournament honor to lead Oklahoma Christian into second place after the first day of the Hammer Lions Classic at Concord Bowl.

Pelkie, a sophomore from Sarnia, Ontario, rolled a three-game total of 570 – highlighted by a 207 in game two – to finish fourth in the individual portion of the tournament. Sarah Young, a sophomore from North Richland Hills, Texas, placed 19th in the individual standings for OC with a score of 509.

The Eagles shined during the 12 Baker games played Saturday, moving up steadily from fifth to second place in the 11-team tournament. OC's overall score of 5,233 trailed only national power Wichita State, which had 5,733.

OC will be the No. 2 seed in the double-elimination match-play portion of the tournament that will be played Sunday.
