OKLAHOMA CITY (Feb. 21, 2021) – Posting a pair of second-place finishes, two NCAA Division II B-cut times and two school records in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships earned Oklahoma Christian swimmer
Brandon Heredia recognition Sunday as the Eagle of the Week.
Heredia, a sophomore from Maryville, Mo., made the most of his three races at the RMAC meet in Grand Junction, Colo. He finished second in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:37.98, a time that set a school record and met the NCAA B-cut qualifying standard for next month's Division II meet. He placed fourth in the 50 freestyle in 20.57, also meeting the NCAA B-cut standard.
He was a part of OC's 200 freestyle relay team that also placed second and set a school record with a time of 1:22.02.
It's the second time during the 2020-21 academic year that Heredia has been named as the Eagle of the Week.
The Eagle of the Week award recognizes the top performer in OC athletics for the previous week. The honor is presented each week at least one OC athletic team is in competition.
