ARKADELPHIA, Ark. (Oct. 8, 2021) – Oklahoma Christian swimmers won six events, but Henderson State (Ark.) downed the Eagles 137-124 in a dual meet on Friday at Wells Natatorium.
OC posted three 1-2 event finishes against the Reddies. In the 100-yard breaststroke, freshman
J.T. Amrein of Bonner Springs, Kan., won in 56.93 seconds, with freshman
Jason Seitz of Glen Allen, Va., second in 1:00.32.
The Eagles also dominated in the 200 breaststroke thanks to Seitz (who won in 2:13.24) and freshman
Felix Berling of Meppen, Germany (second in 2:15.95). In the 200 individual medley, junior
Andrew Ehler of Oak Point, Texas, won in 2:03.48, with senior
Zac Hawes of Houston second in 2:04.00.
The Eagles' other individual wins came in the 1,000 freestyle (freshman
Chase Fields of Tyler, Texas, in 10:00.52), the 100 freestyle (junior
Brandon Heredia of Maryville, Mo., in 47.36 seconds) and the 200 backstroke (freshman
Nathaniel Whitehead of Tigard, Ore., in 1:59.00).
OC will travel across the street in Arkadelphia for another meet on Saturday at Ouachita Baptist (Ark.).
