TULSA, Okla. (Oct. 16, 2021) – Oklahoma Christian rebounded from a tough early loss to win its final two matches on Saturday in the pool-play portion of the Ozarks Conference tournament at West Bank Sports Complex.

The Eagles ended the day in third place in the five-team tournament, with one pool-play match remaining on Sunday at 9 a.m. against Missouri S&T. The Eagles could finish pool play anywhere between first and third, which would put them in good shape to earn one of three bids to a regional playoff event available in the Ozarks tournament.

OC, which had lost only one match in two previous tournaments this season, dropped a wild 13-12 decision to Truman State (Mo.) to open play Saturday. The Eagles led 9-6, then fell behind 12-9, rallied to tie the match and then lost on universe on the decisive point.

The Eagles jumped out quickly in their next match, taking a 9-2 lead over Harding (Ark.) en route to a 13-4 rout. OC did the same to John Brown (Ark.), taking leads of 3-0 and 9-1 before winning 13-5.

Missouri S&T, which has split with OC this season, is 3-0 in pool play entering Sunday morning's match, with Truman and OC both 2-1. John Brown is 1-3 and Harding is 0-3.

After the final two pool-play games, the second and third seeds will play again, with the winner to face the top seed for the title. The loser of the 2-3 game will play the winner of a match between the four and five seeds in a third-place match.
