OKLAHOMA CITY (May 29, 2022) – Helping lead Oklahoma Christian to its second Ultimate national championship in five months earned
Samuel Roberts recognition Sunday as the Eagle of the Week.
Roberts, a freshman from Willington, Conn., was a key cog for the Eagles in their run to the title in the USA Ultimate Division III Championship, which ended Monday in Milwaukee.
Sixth-seeded OC went 3-0 in pool play, beating No. 3 seed Berry (Ga.) 15-14 on a universe point. In bracket play, the Eagles rolled past Grace (Ind.) 15-7 in the quarterfinals and edged No. 2 seed Middlebury (Vt.) 14-13 on a universe point in the semifinals on Sunday to advance to the title match against top-seeded St. Olaf (Minn.).
Against St. Olaf, the Eagles scored five straight points early in the second half and won 15-11. In the three bracket-play matches, Roberts recorded 20 assists, three goals and six Ds.
The Eagle of the Week award recognizes the top performer in OC athletics for the previous week. The honor is presented each week at least one OC athletic team is in competition.

Dylan Burrows, men's track and field: Burrows, a sophomore from Melbourne, Australia, competed for the first time in the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships, in Allendale, Mich. Burrows finished 21st out of 23 runners in the preliminary round of the 800 meters with a time of 1:51.59.
