Payton Duesing posted a top-10 finish in the 800 meters and
Bryah Davis had solid performances in two sprint events to lead Oklahoma Christian on Saturday in the Washburn Open at the new Washburn Indoor Facility.
Duesing, a junior middle-distance runner from Lantana, Texas, had the Eagles' top individual event finish on the meet's second day, placing sixth in a field of 30 women in the 800 meters in 2:23.71.
Davis, a sophomore from Cedar Hill, Texas, ran a career-best time of 25.91 seconds in the 200 meters and finished 12th among 63 women. In the 60 meters, her time of 7.80 seconds was good for a 13th-place finish among 39 runners.
Junior
Emma Davison of Mason City, Iowa, was 13th among 24 runners in the mile in 5:31.74.
OC's top field-event competitors Saturday were junior
Morgan Ray in the triple jump, who finished 17th with a top mark of 33 feet, 3¾ inches (10.15 meters), and freshman
Leah Oguntope of Houston, who was 19th in the shot put with a throw of 35 feet, 4 inches (10.77 meters).
The Eagles' next regular-season meet – the last of the abbreviated indoor track and field season – will be the Indoor Gorilla Classic in Pittsburg, Kan., on Feb. 12-13.
