Lady Eagles add game vs. Oklahoma Baptist

OKLAHOMA CITY (Jan. 25, 2021) – Oklahoma Christian will host longtime rival Oklahoma Baptist in a nonconference women's basketball game on Feb. 1, OC coach Stephanie Findley said Monday.

The game, which is scheduled for 6 p.m., will be the first meeting between OC and OBU since the 2011-12 season, when both schools were members of the NAIA and the Sooner Athletic Conference. OC moved into the NCAA Division II ranks with the 2012-13 season and OBU followed two years later.

OC now is in the Lone Star Conference, while OBU is a member of the Great American Conference. OC leads the all-time series 44-36, including a 26-12 mark in the Eagles' Nest. The teams began playing each other during the 1977-78 season – the first OC had a women's program – and played at least twice every season through the 2011-12 campaign.

The Eagles are 3-2 this season but have played only one home game, on Jan. 7 against LSC rival Cameron. OC has road games scheduled this week at Texas Woman's (Tuesday) and Arkansas-Fort Smith (Thursday) and a home game on Saturday against UAFS.

The Bison are 0-7 this season, with GAC games scheduled this week at home against Southern Nazarene (Monday) and Southwestern Oklahoma State (Thursday) and at East Central (Saturday). OBU's top scorer is Jaylin Stapleton, who averages 10.8 points per game. Andreja Peciuraite averages 8.9 points and 6.9 rebounds per game for the Bison.
