OKLAHOMA CITY (Jan. 20, 2021) – For the third time this season, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference named Oklahoma Christian's
Brandon Heredia as its men's swimmer of the week on Wednesday.
The sophomore from Maryville, Mo., was recognized this time for leading the Eagles to victory in a dual meet against Oklahoma Baptist on Friday in Edmond, posting one individual win, one relay win and an individual runner-up finish.
Heredia rolled to victory in the 200-yard freestyle, posting a time of 1:44.41 to win by more than six seconds over the runner-up. He also finished second in the 50 freestyle with a time of 21.10 seconds. In the meet's final event, the 400 freestyle relay, his anchor leg gave the Eagles the lead they held all the way while winning in 3:09.78, edging out OBU's time of 3:10.06.
Heredia also received the RMAC award in October, after the Sam Freas Invitational in late September, and in November, after the Eagle Invitational.
He helped give OC a sweep of the RMAC awards this week, as Cheyenne Parks was named as the league's women's swimmer of the week.
