COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (July 9, 2020) – Oklahoma Christian swimmers Bergen Davis and Zac Hawes have been named to the Scholar All-America list by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America.

The award recognizes student-athletes who posted at least a 3.5 grade-point average and either qualified for the NCAA Division II Championships or posted a NCAA B qualifying time during the season. The OC duo became the first in the program's three-season history to earn the CSCAA academic honor.

Davis, a sophomore Marketing/Management major from Juneau, Alaska, made the Scholar All-America honorable mention list for a second straight year. He swam a NCAA B qualifying time of 1:48.52 while winning the 200-yard backstroke title at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships in Grand Junction, Colo., in February.

Davis also posted B qualifying times in the 200 individual medley (1:50.92) and 400 individual medley (4:00.32) at the RMAC meet.

Hawes, a junior Accounting/Finance major from Houston, swam B qualifying times in the 200 breaststroke (2:00.25) and 100 breaststroke (55.50 seconds) in the RMAC meet, winning the league title in the 200. He also made the honorable mention list for the CSCAA award.
