OKLAHOMA CITY (May 27, 2020) – Four incoming Oklahoma Christian men's soccer players – including three who have been coached by OC alumni – made the 2020 Oklahoma Soccer Coaches Association All-State teams.
On the Class 6A West All-State team were forwards Luke McElhinny of Edmond North and Zach Snow of Yukon. Snow's prep coach was
Neil Hilton, who starred for the Eagles from 2008 to 2001 and still serves as an assistant coach for OC, in addition to his duties at Yukon. Two Edmond North assistant coaches, brothers Anthony Buchanan and Tyler Buchanan, also are former OC players.
Goalkeeper Pablo Trejo of Edmond Memorial and forward Nick Ryan of Sapulpa made the 6A East All-State team. Ryan's coach at Sapulpa, Kip Shubert, was one of the stars early in the history of OC's soccer program, playing for the Eagles in 1987 and 1988.
The OSCA has cancelled its All-State games, usually played during the summer months, due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Most of the Oklahoma prep soccer season also was cancelled due to the pandemic.
