EDMOND, Okla. (Nov. 15, 2020) – Oklahoma Christian capped a dominating team win in the Eagle Invitational by winning all six events on Sunday on the final day of the three-day swimming meet at the Edmond YMCA Recreation and Aquatic Center at Mitch Park.

Ryan Jennings and
Nathan Bruner each won an individual event while the quartet of
Garrett White,
Derek Duckworth,
Kurt Gscheidle and
Elijah Tung took top honors in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:06.90.
The Eagles cruised to the team title with 2,329 points during the meet, with Texas-Permian Basin second with 1,052.5 points and Oklahoma Baptist third with 789.5 points.
In both the 100 freestyle and 200 breaststroke, the Eagles had six of the top eight individual finishers, going 1-2-3-4 in both events. Heredia, a junior from Maryville, Mo., won the 100 freestyle in 44.50 seconds, followed in short order by Bruner (44.89 seconds),
Jacob Nixon (46.17 seconds) and Duckworth (46.33 seconds).
Hawes, a senior from Houston, prevailed in the 200 breaststroke in 2:04.15, followed by
Ethan Hansbury (2:09.13), White (2:09.52) and
Tyler Godsey (2:10.47). OC had another 1-2-3-4 finish in the 200 butterfly, led by Jennings, a senior from Keller, Texas, who won in 1:50.45.
Nathan Braun was second (1:51.72), Tung third (1:52.13) and
Jackson Kaye fourth (1:58.42).
OC also had the top two finishers in the 200 backstroke and 1,650 freestyle. In the backstroke, senior
Noah Woollweever of Beckley, W.Va., won in 1:55.25, followed by Richard Taylor (1:56.10). In the distance event, Bruner, a senior from Cibolo, Texas, had a winning time of 16:35.44, with
Andrew Ehler second in 16:39.67.
The meet was the final first-semester event for the Eagles. They're scheduled to resume the season on Jan. 15, when they will host Oklahoma Baptist for a dual meet at the Mitch Park YMCA facility.
