OKLAHOMA CITY (June 10, 2019) – The Oklahoma High School Fast-Pitch Softball Coaches Association has inducted former Oklahoma Christian assistant coach Colin White into its Hall of Fame.

The 41-year-old White, the longtime head coach at Carl Albert High School in Midwest City, was inducted during a ceremony held at OC on Friday, the day before the university hosted the annual All-State Games at Tom Heath Field at Lawson Plaza.

White, the son of former OC baseball coach Chuck White, served as a graduate assistant coach under longtime OC softball coach Tom Heath after arriving at OC in 1998. Colin White has said he learned a lot about coaching softball from both Heath and Steve Gault, who spent 24 seasons as Heath's assistant coach.

Heath entrusted Colin White with maintaining the Eagles' playing field, skills Colin White still uses as part of the grounds crew (led by his father) at USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium, which hosts the annual Women's College World Series.

In 15 seasons at Carl Albert, Colin White has guided the Titans to seven state championships, in 2006, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2017 and 2018. Among the many players he's sent to the collegiate ranks is current OC infielder Bailey Strecker.
