Ryan highest finisher for OC women in ISC qualifying

Taylore Ryan was OC's highest finisher in qualifying for the Intercollegiate SIngles Championships.
DALLAS (March 8, 2019) – Taylore Ryan was the highest finisher for Oklahoma Christian's women as the Eagles competed Saturday in qualifying for the Intercollegiate Singles Championships at USA Bowl.

The top four finishers among 137 bowlers in the Dallas Sectional advanced to the ISC, which will be played next month in Dayton, Ohio. Ryan, a freshman from Allen, Texas, was in fifth place after the fourth of six games, but ended up 17th with a total pinfall of 1,201, 61 shots behind the fourth-place finisher. She posted a high game of 233.

OC sophomore Melissa McConnell of Canton, Ga., finished 20th with a score of 1,183, with a high game of 232.

Two other OC bowlers also competed, with freshman Kaitlyn Esquer of Lawton 80th at 1,040 (with a high game of 205 and freshman Kaylee Haynes of Amarillo, Texas, 135th at 803 (with a high game of 153).

The Eagles will compete Saturday and Sunday in the Intercollegiate Team Championships Sectional, bowling 32 Baker games each day. Sixteen women's teams are in the tournament, with the top four teams advancing to the Intercollegiate Team Championships, set for April 17-20 at Poelking Lanes South in Dayton.

OC's women are the 11th-highest seed in the tournament.
