OKLAHOMA CITY (Oct. 6, 2019) – Oklahoma Christian fell to two Division I foes Sunday in the Just Plain Nasty Ultimate tournament, hosted by the University of Oklahoma at South Lake Soccer Complex.
The first-year OC club team fell to Tulsa 15-4 and the Air Force Academy B team 15-9, dropping the Eagles to 0-6 for the weekend and 5-9 overall for the season. Five of the six teams OC lost to during the tournament were ranked in the top 150 in the collegiate ranks.
"We just have to figure out how to put together a complete game," OC coach
Gabe Cabrera said. "We will play one really solid half, but we need two."
This was true especially in their second matchup of the day against Air Force. The Eagles dominated the first half of play leading 8-6, but fell apart in the second half only scoring one point to Air Force's nine.
Sophomore
Tyler Ogletree of Yukon led the way for the Eagles offensively, scoring five goals. Freshman
Kevin van Roosmalen of Rosmalen, Netherlands, and juniors Nathaniel Nix of Royse City, Texas, and
Zachary Taylor of Fort Gibson each scored two goals.
Junior
Ben Helm of Midlothian, Texas and Roosmalen each had a big day defensively for OC, recording 5 Ds apiece,
The Eagles' next outing will be Oct. 26-27 at the Harvest Moon tournament in Fayetteville, Ark.
