ADDISON, Ill. (Jan. 19, 2019) –
Melissa McConnell posted a top-50 individual finish to pace Oklahoma Christian on Saturday on the first day of the Kegel/ISBPA Midwest Collegiate Classic, a Tier I bowling event at Stardust Bowl.
McConnell, a sophomore from Canton, Ga., had OC's top game, rolling a 233 and finishing her five-game set at 942, in 43rd place in the 376-woman field.
Two other Lady Eagles bowled all five games. Freshman
Taylore Ryan of Allen, Texas, stood 135th at 829, with a top game of 192, while freshman
Kaylee Haynes of Amarillo, Texas, was 178th at 759, rolling a high game of 180.
Of OC's other individual bowlers, freshman Hailey Schanaman of Scottsbluff, Neb., had the highest game, a 176.
OC's team score of 4,002 after the five individual games put the Lady Eagles 45th out of 61 teams. Lindenwood (Mo.) leads the field at 5,066.
The teams will bowl 20 Baker games on Sunday, with those scores to be combined with Saturday's scores to determine the champion.
