Paul, Lacy each homer twice as OC rolls over SNU

Kyle Lacy homered twice, tripled and had six RBIs in OC's win over Southern Nazarene on Tuesday.
Box Score BETHANY, Okla. (April 5, 2016) – On an afternoon on which the wind was blowing out, Oklahoma Christian's Lane Paul and Kyle Lacy took the most advantage.

Lacy and Paul each hit two home runs and drove in six runs apiece, leading the Eagles to a 16-4 romp over Southern Nazarene on Tuesday at SNU's Feland Field. The win completed a season sweep for OC (17-15) against its longtime rival.

OC pounded out 18 hits against SNU (7-27), with Lacy leading the way with a 4-for-5 performance that included a triple and four runs scored. All nine of the Eagles' starters recorded at least one hit.

SNU scored all of its runs in the first two innings before OC starter Jared Price (2-1) found his groove. Price finished his predetermined three-inning stint with five strikeouts, three of those coming in the second inning after he gave up a solo home run to SNU's Josh Matelsky.

Paul clobbered a grand slam to right-center field off SNU starter Cameron Ray (0-1) for his first home run of the season,  the big blow during a five-run second inning for OC. Lacy's two-run triple to right field in the fourth keyed a three-run OC outburst that put the Eagles up 8-4.

Lacy and Ben McKenzie hit consecutive solo home runs in the sixth, and the Eagles sealed the win with a six-run eighth, highlighted by Lacy's three-run homer over the right-center field fence, a triple by Brady Baugh and Paul's solo shot to left-center field. Paul's star turn bumped his season RBI total from 10 to 16.

The nonconference game was ended after eight innings due to the run rule.

The Eagles will visit Heartland Conference foe Texas-Permian Basin on Friday and Saturday for what's shaping up to be a key league series.
