Eagles top Heartland Conference rival Arkansas-Fort Smith 6-2

OKLAHOMA CITY (March 14, 2013) – Dillon Andrews doubled and homered en route to a four-RBI performance and Oklahoma Christian beat Heartland Conference rival Arkansas-Fort Smith 6-2 on Thursday afternoon at Dobson Field.

OC (13-8) has won seven of its last eight games and in UAFS (13-7) beat a foe that's earned votes in the regional rankings this season.

Andrews hit a two-run homer, his second of the season, of UAFS starter Austin Duerr (0-1) to put the Eagles up 2-1 in the bottom of the first.

Garrett Guys hit a run-scoring double in the third to put OC up 3-1 and Andrews' RBI single in the fifth made it 4-1. Garrett Stephenson added an RBI single in the sixth for OC.

The Lions pulled within 5-2 in the top of the seventh, but Jordan Lopez led off OC's half of the inning with a single and scored on Andrews' double.

Andrews finished 3-for-4, as did Markus Carr, who scored three of OC's runs. Stephenson also had a pair of hits for OC.

Tyler Sturges (4-1) allowed eight hits in 7 1/3 innings, walking six and striking out five for the Eagles.

OC will host Rogers State, last year's NAIA runner-up, at 6 p.m. on Friday.
