LUBBOCK, Texas (March 21, 2008) – Oklahoma Christian University lost twice at No. 3 Lubbock Christian University (Texas) on Friday in Lubbock, Texas.

The Eagles fell to 10-14-1 overall and 3-14 in the Sooner Athletic Conference with the setbacks. The Chaparrals, winners of 20 straight, moved to 27-1 overall and 14-0 in conference play.

LCU took the first two games of the three-game set on Friday by scores of 13-0 and 9-2. OC and LCU will play a third game tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Hays Field.

The Chaps outhit the Eagles 17-to-1 in the first contest en route to a five-inning run-rule win.

LCU scored in every inning after starting the game with a five-run first.

Tyler Gipson slapped OC's lone hit of game one, a fourth-inning single to right. Riley Jones took the loss to fall to 3-3 on the season.

In game two, the Eagles scored first to take a 1-0 lead after a half inning play.

Jordan Price ripped a double to start the game. The freshman then moved up a bag when Ray Long bounced out to the shortstop. Price then charged home on a passed ball to make it 1-0 in OC's favor.

But LCU scored twice in its half on Rob Learned's two-run homer over the leftfield wall. The Chaps went on to plate seven unanswered runs in the game to take a 9-1 lead to the final inning.

The scrappy Eagles capitalized on Ray Long's inning-opening hit-by-pitch when Chris Miller singled home the centerfielder to bring the final tally to 9-2.

Ryan Morris (0-4) suffered the loss after a seven-hit, seven-earned-run outing. The freshman from Oklahoma City struck out two and walked a pair.

Price (1-for-3), Miller (1-for-3) and Josh Henry (1-for-2) collected the Eagles' three hits of the second game.
