OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Feb. 14, 2008) – Oklahoma Christian fell 11-0 to No. 9 Oklahoma City Thursday afternoon at Dobson Field.
The game was OC's (1-3-1, 0-3) third home contest of the school's new baseball era. OC lost 9-1 and 16-3 to OCU (9-0, 3-0) on Tuesday at Jim Wade Stadium.
The Stars started the game with a four-run first inning.
Landon Camp singled home Garrett Regan to make it 1-0 before the Eagles recorded an out. Kirk Walker did more damage with a two-RBI single to left field that scored David Mann and Brent Weaver.
David James, the Eagles' starting pitcher, settled in and struck out the side in the second inning. OC then recorded its first hits in the home half of the second when Josh Balch and Quaid Johns singled.
But OCU runs in five of the next six innings were too much, as the Stars took the 11-0 shutout win after seven innings.
Josh Henry and Chris Burshek teamed with Balch and Johns for OC's four hits on the day. James finished the day after 4.1 innings, allowing seven runs, but only three earned.
David Odquist picked up the win for the Stars with a five-inning, two-hit performance.
The Eagles scheduled games against York College (Neb.) on Friday and Saturday have been moved to Monday because of the anticipated weather. OC and YC will play a doubleheader at 12 p.m. on Monday at Dobson Field.
