LUBBOCK, Texas (March 22, 2008) – Oklahoma Christian University fell 10-0 to No. 3 Lubbock Christian University (Texas) on Saturday in the final game of the Sooner Athletic Conference opponents' three-game set.
OC dropped to 10-15-1 overall and 3-15 in the SAC in its first year of baseball since 2001. LCU improved to 28-1 and 15-0 on the year.Â
Jordan Price led off the game with a single to right field, but the hit would be one of just four Eagle knocks in the game.
Tyler Sutton held LCU at bay early on and OC trailed just 2-0 after four innings of action.
A four-run Chaparral fifth helped LCU take further control however. Rob Learned and Jarred Bogany each tagged homeruns in the inning that that saw LCU lead 6-0 when the smoke cleared.
LCU, a perennial small-college baseball power, went on to win its 21st straight game.
Sutton (0-4) was charged with the loss after going five and one-third of an inning.
Price continued his stellar season at the plate with a 2-for-4 effort that raised his team-best batting average to .432.
Chris Miller (1-for-2) and Josh Balch (1-for-3) notched OC's other two hits on the day.
The Eagles' next game comes on Tuesday in Ft. Worth, Texas against Texas Wesleyan at 2 p.m. OC returns home on Thursday for a match up with SAC-foe St. Gregory's (Okla.) at 2 p.m.
