OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Feb. 12, 2008) – Oklahoma Christian fell 9-1 and 16-3 to No. 9 Oklahoma City University Tuesday afternoon at Jim Wade Stadium.

The games were the third and fourth contests of the new Eagle baseball era. OC beat Peru State (Neb.) 5-4, and tied 14-14, on Saturday.

Oklahoma City, a perennial NAIA baseball power, used a pair of three run innings to build an 8-0 edge through four frames of game one on Tuesday.

The Eagles pushed across a run in the top of the fifth thanks to hits from Nick Hollrah, Chance Nichols and Ray Long. After Hollrah singled to center field, Nichols pounded a towering drive off the right-field wall to set up a two-on, no-out situation.

Stars ace Mike Lee sat down the next two batters on strikeouts. But Long tapped an infield single to the second baseman which scored Hollrah and made it 8-1.

OCU added another run in the bottom half to take the 9-1 victory. Lee picked up the win with an 11-strikeout, five-hit effort.

Tyler Sutton suffered his first loss of the season, working five innings and allowing 12 hits. Tim Dodd hurled a scoreless sixth inning.

Hollrah, Long, Nichols, Jordan Price and Quaid Johns all went 1-for-3 for the Eagles. Long claimed OC's lone RBI.

In game two, OCU outscored OC 16-0 over the first four innings before the Eagles put a three-spot on the board in the fifth.

Chris Burshek was hit by a pitch, then Price singled to right field to open the inning. After two strikeouts, Tyler Gipson cleared the bases with a homerun over the left-field fence.

Price was 3-for-3 in game two. The Midwest City, Okla., native had a 4-for-6 day to up his team-best batting average to .667 (8-for-12).

OC fell to 1-2-1 overall and 0-2 in Sooner Athletic Conference play. OCU moved to 8-0 and 2-0.

The teams square off again on Thursday at 2 p.m. at OC's Dobson Field. The Eagles will play a pair of doubleheaders vs. York College (Neb.) on Friday and Saturday.
