Lady Eagles bounce back with big win

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Dec. 5, 2009) – The Oklahoma Christian women's basketball team notched their seventh win of the season in their 64-43 victory over Lubbock Christian University on Saturday afternoon.

Oklahoma Christian's Kailan DeCamp got the game rolling for the Lady Eagles with the first basket of the game driving through traffic to put up a layup. The 5-6 guard put up 10 points within the first seven minutes of the game to give Oklahoma Christian a lead they never surrendered.

The Lady Eagles had an impressive first half shooting 64 percent from the field and putting up 37 points to Lubbock Christian's 19 leading by as much as 21 points during the half.

DeCamp paced the Lady Eagles throughout scoring 17 points, making three assists and one steal during the game. Fellow senior, Brittney Kennedy, controlled the ball down low scoring 14 for the Lady Eagles along with grabbing five boards. Lindsay McCown assisted down low grabbing scoring five points and making four rebounds.

Krista Stevens was three for five from behind the arc for the Lady Eagles who put up 12 points total during the game. Katy Clift hit an additional two three-point shots to put up six points for OC.

The OC women never allowed the Lady Chaps within 13 points during the second half and finished with a 21 point margin of victory to earn themselves a 7-2 season record.

The Lady Eagles return to the Nest on Monday night to play Northwestern Oklahoma State University in a double header with the men's team. The women start at 6 p.m. followed by the men at 8 p.m.
