Eagles fall to even series with Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (April 22, 2011) – The Oklahoma Christian baseball team suffered a 6-0 loss at the hands of No. 3 Oklahoma City University on Friday night at Jim Wade Stadium.

The Eagles struggled to get runners home on Friday as they left 10 runners on base without scoring a single run.

Oklahoma City grabbed an early lead in the bottom of the second with four runs to leave the Eagles at a 4-0 deficit heading into the third. Three innings later with no scores for the Eagles, the Stars put up an additional run to make it a five run gap over OC.

Despite various attempts to score and break the Stars' rhythm, the Eagles were unable to respond and a final run from OCU in the bottom of the eighth left the 6-0 victory to the Stars.

The Eagles tallied eight hits on the evening with Jeff Davis going 3-for-4 at the plate and Dustin Andrews registering 2-for-4 success.

The loss evens up the series with the Stars at 1-1 and brings the Eagles to a 23-15 season record and to 15-11 for conference play. The OC baseball team will close out the tree-game series with OCU on Saturday with a single game at home beginning at 1 p.m.
