CHICKASHA, Okla. (April 20, 2010) – The Oklahoma Christian baseball team suffered two losses from the University of Arts and Sciences of Oklahoma in Tuesday's double header as they lost the first game 12-2 and the second 9-2.
The Eagles struggled to score in both games despite beating out the Drovers 9-5 at their last meeting.
Game 1
OC took the early lead after Taylor Parcus drilled a home run over the fence as the lead off hitter for the Eagles.
The Eagles kept the Drovers from scoring in the bottom of the inning, however, USAO brought home nine runners in the second to take a huge lead.
The Drovers scored three more runs in the fourth to take a 12-1 lead heading into the fifth inning.
OC scored one run from Justin Ebert on a single from Jeff Davis, but were unable to score again resulting in a run rule loss for the Eagles.
Ebert led at the plate with 1-for-2 hitting and two RBI.
Game 2
In the second game, USAO was the first to take the lead after scoring two runs in the first inning.
The Eagles responded with a run in the third when Chance Nichols hit a triple and then was driven in on a sacrifice fly from Dillon Andrews.
Over the next two innings the Drovers put five runs, however, to hold a 7-2 advantage over the Eagles.
OC tallied their only other run in the top of the sixth inning from Dillon Andrews on a single from Tyler Gipson.
USAO tallied two more scores in the bottom of the inning to earn a 9-2 victory over the Eagles.
Andrews and Nichols each went 1-for-3 at the play while scoring one run.
The losses leave OC at 17-20 for the season and 10-14 for conference play.
The Eagles will head to the road to play Texas Wesleyan University on Thursday in a double header starting at 4 p.m.
