OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (April 1, 2010) – The Oklahoma Christian baseball team fell captive to an Oklahoma City University run rule in the seventh inning after the Stars hit two three run home runs to win 11-0 on Thursday night's series opener.
The Eagles struggled at the plate against Oklahoma City's Dustin Williams who threw eight strikeouts and only allowed three hits.
In the bottom of the fourth, however, OC's Dillon Andrews made it to third base but was unable to reach home before three outs.
The OC squad held the Stars to a single run through four innings before OCU's TJ Jackson hit a three run homer to start the Stars' scoring streak in the top of the fifth.
The Stars scored three more runs in the sixth and four more in the seventh with a three run homer from Mark Purser. Holding the Eagles from scoring in the bottom of the inning, OCU ended the game early with a run rule at 11-0.
Dillon Andrews and Tyler Gipson were the only Eagles to register hits with Andrews going 2-for-3 and Gipson 1-for-3.
The Eagles will continue their series with OCU on Friday at Oklahoma City in a nine-inning game starting at 7 p.m.
