OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Mar. 26, 2011) – The Oklahoma Christian baseball team split Saturday's double header with the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma as the Eagles captured game one 7-3 and dropped the second 3-1.

Game 1

In game one, the Drovers put a score on the board in the first to take an early 1-0 lead, before the Eagles responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning to lead by one at 2-1 going into the second.

With Jordan Price on first, Dustin Andrews drilled a two-run homer over the right fence to score two for the Eagles.

A scoreless second followed before the Eagles put together a four-run inning in the third. Dustin Andrews hit a deep single to send Caleb Price in for the first score. Tyler Gipson followed directly after and reached base on a fielder's choice, however, an error on the play allowed both Dillon Andrews and Jordan Price to make it home. Next to bat, Clint Bowker hit a single to send in Gipson for the final run of the inning.

With the Eagles leading 6-1, a scoreless fourth following before the Eagles tacked on one more run when a misplayed grounder allowed Bowker to reach base and Dustin Andrews to make it across the plate.

The Drovers put up a single run in each of the last two innings to cut the final Eagle margin to four runs, as OC claimed the 7-3 victory.

Dustin Andrews carried a perfect game at the plate going 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored. Caleb Price helped out as well with a run scored and 2-for-3 success at the plate.

Game 2

Strong fielding from both squads during the second game led to three scoreless innings to start things off. In the top of the fourth, however, USAO hopped on the board with a run and then sent two more home in the following inning for a 3-0 lead heading into the bottom of the fifth.

With the Eagles up to bat, Heath Steele took the plate second only to blast a long homer over the right fence to put the Eagles on the board as they trailed 3-1 heading into the sixth.

The Eagles came up short in the final innings, as they were unable to get anyone home for a score leaving the game in the Drovers' hands at 3-1.

The split brings the Eagles to 7-6 in the conference while they carry a 15-9 record overall. Next Thursday, the Eagles will host Northwestern Oklahoma State University at Dobson Field for a single nine-inning game at 6 p.m.
