OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Feb. 27, 2010) – The Eagles continued Sooner Athletic Conference play on Saturday, when they hosted Oklahoma Baptist University. The Eagles took two games from OBU earlier this week, but were unable to make it three in a row as they lost 14-4.
After OBU scored two runs in the top of the first inning, the Eagles responded scoring two runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning on an error to tie the game 2-2.
The game was never as close following the first inning. OBU tallied another five runs over the next two innings, as the Eagles remained scoreless, to take a 7-2 lead.
In the seventh inning, the Eagles got on the board again with two more runs but gave up another six in the eighth and ninth innings to drop the game 14-4.
Jordan Price led the Eagles at the plate, going 2 for 5 with two RBIs and one run. Dustin Andrews pitched in going for 2 for 4 with one RBI.
Taylor Parcus and Dillon Andrews added scores for the Eagles with Parcus rounding the bases twice and Andrews once.
Dustin Andrews also started the game on the mound for the Eagles. He pitched 2.2 innings and gave up seven runs. Brady Hamar, Qwynn Holder and Conner Williams finished out the game for the Eagles.
The OC baseball squad is now 5-4 overall and 2-1 for conference play.
The Eagles will return to action March 2, when they travel to Stillwater, Okla. to play Oklahoma State University at 3 p.m.
