Jerry Owen hit a two-run home run for OC on Tuesday in a 5-2 loss to Rogers State.
OKLAHOMA CITY (March 27, 2012) – Rogers State rallied from a 2-1 deficit to beat Oklahoma Christian 5-2 on Tuesday night at Dobson Field and complete a three-game season sweep of the Eagles.
Jerry Owen's two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth put OC (7-18, 3-14 Sooner Athletic Conference) ahead 2-1, but Eric Baker answered with a two-run homer in the top of the seventh to put Rogers State (28-8, 11-7) back on top.
The Hillcats added an insurance run in both the eighth and ninth innings against OC right-hander Ryan Morris (2-5). Morris went the distance for the Eagles, allowing 13 hits, walking two and striking out two.
OC's Dillon Andrews went 3-for-4 against Rogers State starter Eric Faust (5-1), but Faust allowed only three other hits and went all the way for the Hillcats, striking out four and walking one. Faust posted his second win of the season against the Eagles.
Colton Campbell went 4-for-5 with two RBIs for Rogers State. His solo home run over the left-field fence broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning.
Owen's homer to center field came after a single by Wes Dorough. Daniel Thompson, who had reached on an error to start the sixth inning, tried to score from second base on Dorough's single but was thrown out at the plate by Rogers State right fielder Keith Poverud.
The Eagles will try to snap a 14-game losing streak when they host SAC rival USAO on Thursday at 6 p.m.
