Caleb Price had two hits for OC in an 8-4 loss to USAO.
OKLAHOMA CITY (March 29, 2012) – Oklahoma Christian pounded out 10 hits but also committed a season-high nine errors, allowing USAO to emerge with an 8-4 win on Thursday night at Dobson Field.
OC (7-20, 3-16 Sooner Athletic Conference) led 4-3 after five innings, but the Eagles' defensive miscues eventually caught up to them. Of USAO's eight runs, seven were unearned.
USAO (17-15, 8-9) scored four of those runs courtesy of one huge sixth-inning error. With two outs, Chris Miller dropped a popup, giving the Drovers two baserunners. Konrad Mueller followed with a two-run double, putting the Drovers ahead 5-4 and chasing OC starter Luke Sandoval (2-3).
Jared Coon greeted reliever Heath Orndorff with a two-run home run over the left-field fence.
Sandoval allowed four hits in 5 2/3 innings, walking two and striking out three. USAO starter Adam Wilson (6-1) lasted six innings, giving up nine hits, three walks and striking out five.
Caleb Price, Tanner Hessman, Wes Dorough and Garrett Stephenson each had two hits for the Eagles, who have lost 15 straight baseball games.
The Eagles and Drovers will play a doubleheader Saturday at 2 p.m. in Chickasha.
