Lady Eagles fall again to NAIA No. 1 Lubbock Christian

LUBBOCK, Texas (Nov. 30, 2012) – Three days after taking a 22-point loss at home against NAIA No. 1-ranked Lubbock Christian (Texas), the Oklahoma Christian Lady Eagles didn't fare any better on the road against the Chaparrals.

Emily Atkins scored 20 points, Haley Burton added 19, Kelsey Canavan had 18 and Courtney Wilson had 17 as Lubbock Christian beat OC 104-77 on Friday night at the Rip Griffin Center.

LCU (11-0) is off to the best start in the program's history. After grinding out a tough win on Thursday night at Oklahoma Panhandle State, OC (4-4) struggled on the second day of a three-games-in-three-days stretch.

The Lady Eagles' only lead came early at 4-2 before LCU scored the next 11 points to take control. The Chaparrals led 54-35 at halftime and their lead peaked at 32 points in the second half before OC closed the gap in the final minutes.

LCU shot 54.9 percent from the field and outrebounded OC 46-29.

Freshman Sydney Hill led OC with a career-high 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting. Katy O'Steen and Roz Hamilton scored 12 points each and freshman Aisha Martin added a career-high 11.

OC will finish its road trip on Saturday afternoon with a game at Heartland Conference foe Texas-Permian Basin.
