EDMOND, Okla. – Oklahoma Christian women's soccer suffered its first loss of the 2026 season Thursday night, falling 1-0 to Mississippi Christian at Eagle Soccer Field.
The Eagles controlled much of the match and played with a player advantage for nearly 85 minutes after a Mississippi Christian player was shown a red card in the sixth minute. Despite the advantage, OC was unable to find the back of the net.
Oklahoma Christian generated several opportunities throughout the match, finishing with a 12-3 advantage in shots and putting seven attempts on goal. The Eagles also held a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks.
The match remained scoreless until the 84th minute, when the Lady Choctaws were able to break through the Eagles' defense and score to give the visitors a 1-0 advantage.
The Eagles will look to bounce back on Saturday, September 5th, as they travel north to take on the Newman Jets at 8 p.m. in Wichita, Kan.
