Jefferson Leads Eagles Past Colorado Christian in Season Opener

EDMOND, Okla. – Oklahoma Christian women's soccer opened the 2026 season with a 2-0 victory over Colorado Christian on Saturday morning at Eagle Soccer Field. The Eagles received a pair of goals from Caid Jefferson, while Breanna Wooten and the OC defense kept the Cougars off the scoreboard.

Oklahoma Christian wasted little time finding the back of the net. In the 11th minute, Jenna Munson connected with Jefferson, who scored the Eagles' first goal of the season to give OC an early 1-0 advantage.

Jefferson struck again early in the second half. In the 57th minute, Munson once again found Jefferson for her second goal of the match, doubling Oklahoma Christian's advantage to 2-0.

The Eagles' defense took care of the rest. Wooten played all 90 minutes in goal and recorded three saves to earn the shutout. Colorado Christian finished with seven shots, but only three were on goal.

The victory moves Oklahoma Christian to 1-0 to begin the 2026 season, avenging the Eagles' 3-2 loss to the Cougars in 2025.

The Eagles will travel to Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to face in-state foe Northeastern State on Tuesday, September 1, at 7 p.m.
