Resendiz, Dickson Pitch Combined Shutout Against NSU

EDMOND, Okla. - Ella Resendiz (11-0) recorded the 11th win of her freshman campaign as Jill Dickson followed with the final nine outs to give No. 15 Oklahoma Christian the 1-0 victory against Northeastern State Tuesday, Apr. 21 in the final non-conference regular season game of 2026.

After Resendiz went four innings to qualify for the win, Dickson came in and faced the final 14 batters without allowing a single hit while recording four strikeouts to record her second save of the season. Resendiz allowed three hits while matching Dickson with the four punch-outs.

Danae Lopez (1-2) and Madi Drummond (0-1) each reached base safely twice with Lopez working a walk while Drummond took a pair of free bases. Marti Yaeger (1-3) recorded the only RBI of the evening with a single in the first inning.

The freshman hurler got three of her four strikeouts in the first inning, retiring three of the first four Riverhawk batters. The Eagles responded with a two-out RBI-single from Yaerger for the early 1-0 lead.

From there, the pitching duel commenced as the maroon-and-gray managed just one more hit the rest of the way while NSU saw three more base knocks.

With Dickson having entered the circle, Northeastern loaded the bases in the fifth while putting two on the base paths in the sixth, but the Eagle defense was able to keep the Riverhawk offense off the scoreboard for their ninth consecutive victory in the series.

No. 15 Oklahoma Christian (37-11, 28-8 LSC) will hit the road one final time this regular season when it heads to Lawton, Okla. to battle Cameron in a doubleheader Saturday, Apr. 25 starting at 2 p.m.
