WICHITA FALLS, Texas - For the ninth consecutive year (excluding 2020's Covid-19 shortened season), No. 13 Oklahoma Christian reached 30 wins after defeating Midwestern State in Thursday's doubleheader from Mustangs Park, 12-0 and 8-2.
Jill Dickson (14-4) picked up her 14th win of the season in game one, throwing six strikeouts while allowing just two hits in four innings of work.
McKenna Ingram (7-3) claimed the win in game two, while
Ella Resendiz picked up the third save of her freshman campaign.
Sydnee Seat tallied five hits across the two games with four RBI while
Danae Lopez finished her day with four hits, including two doubles and a home run, with a pair of RBI. Lopez has hit all four of her home runs in her last seven games, hitting .405 in conference play. Seven Eagles on a minimum of 50 at-bats are hitting .400 or better in league play.
No. 13 Oklahoma Christian (31-8, 23-5 LSC) will return home after a rare two-game conference weekend before hosting Eastern New Mexico and No. 1 West Texas A&M at Tom Heath Field Friday, Apr. 10 and Sunday, Apr. 12, respectively.

Six of Oklahoma Christian's 12 hits came in the first inning, as a lead-off
Maci George single yielded a nine-run opening frame. Along with George's lead-off base-knock, the Valley Center, Kan., native added a double, accompanied by three RBI, before MSU managed three outs.
The Mustangs' lead-off hitter got on base as well with an opening walk before Dickson retired the next nine Midwestern batters in order, including striking out the side in the third. Oklahoma Christian added another two runs in the second in a two-RBI double from
Sydnee Seat as the Eagles entered run-rule territory nine outs into game-one action.
Dickson allowed all two of MSU's hits in the fourth, but were unable to get a base runner past second. One more insurance run in the Eagles' final at-bat off a
Taryn Blazevich RBI-single delivered the game's final tally, 12-0.
Game Two: No. 13 Oklahoma Christian 8, Midwestern State 2
Oklahoma Christian loaded the bases on one out, threatening another big first inning, but were kept scoreless until the second inning as both teams brought one run across the plate. The Eagles scored two more runs off two hits and an MSU fielding error in the fourth inning, as starting pitcher

Holding a two-run lead,
Ella Resendiz faced just 11 batters in her final three innings of work, allowing OC to extend its lead late in game two. After some plays at the plate for the Mustang defense in the fifth to keep the two-run deficit intact, the Eagles broke open the game with a five-spot in the sixth for the 8-1 lead before the final tally read in favor of the maroon-and-gray, 8-2. Â
