Rupp's Big Day Leads No. 12 OC to Twin Bill Sweep

EDMOND, Okla. - Kallie Rupp recorded two of her team-high 11 home runs in game two of Thursday's doubleheader as No. 12 Oklahoma Christian defeated Eastern New Mexico, 5-2 and 12-8.

Jill Dickson (15-4) and McKenna Ingram (8-3) each picked up wins in the circle while Ella Resendiz claimed her fourth save of the season in game one. Ingram tied her season-high with seven strikeouts while pitching just four innings.

Rupp, after going a modest 1-for-2 with one run scored in game one, exploded in game two with six RBI on four hits, including two home runs. Rupp's 11 homers this season is the most by an Eagle since Martha Thomas' program-record 13 in 2014 as well as her six RBI in game two serving as a career high.

No. 12 Oklahoma Christian (33-8, 25-5 LSC) will take its seven-game win streak into a doubleheader showdown with No. 5 West Texas A&M Saturday, Apr. 11 starting at 12 p.m.

Game One: No. 12 Oklahoma Christian 5, Eastern New Mexico 2
Eastern New Mexico put at least one runner on base in every half inning, but starting pitcher Jill Dickson held ENMU scoreless through five and two-thirds innings. During that time, OC established a 5-0 lead off nine hits, five of which came in the fifth inning.

The Greyhounds scored their two runs in the top of the sixth before Resendiz came to the circle, facing just five batters in one and one-third inning, striking out four batters during her time on the rubber. With the game-tying run came on deck, Resendiz struck out ENMU for the final out of the contest to hold onto the three-run lead.

Game Two: No. 12 Oklahoma Christian 12, Eastern New Mexico 8
Oklahoma Christian's offense got started quickly with a 10-2 lead after four innings. Rupp homered in her first two at-bats, plus a two-RBI single in her third plate appearance to help establish the eight-run advantage.

The Greyhounds began to cut into the deficit in the fifth and sixth, bringing the tally to 12-8, but a pair of hits in the final two innings allowed by Payten Schibbelhute clinched victory for OC, completing the doubleheader sweep.
