Taylor Jackson tied her personal best with her seventh straight game with 10 or more points, but Oklahoma Christian fell late Thursday night to UT Permian Basin, 69-60.
Trailing by just four points after three quarters of play, the Falcons outscored OC 27-22 in the fourth to escape with the nine-point victory.
The aforementioned Jackson was the lone Lady Eagle to score in double figures with 17 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Elikya Baseyila followed Jackson with nine points while also grabbing a team-high rebounds.
Oklahoma Christian grabbed its first lead of the game with 2:59 remaining in the first quarter, only to have four more lead changes follow before OC took a one-point lead into the second quarter, 14-13. Defense from both squads took over in the second 10-minute stint as UTPB's 25-23 lasted for the final 4:17 of the first half.
The Falcons were able to build their biggest lead of the game early in the third, 37-28, before the Lady Eagles fought back to get it back down to four with 10 minutes left to play. After Sofia Lopex cut the deficit to two 12 seconds into the final stanza, an 8-0 Permian Basin finally put the game out of reach.
Oklahoma Christian (5-9, 1-6 LSC) will return to the Payne Athletic Center Saturday, Jan. 10 at 1 p.m. when Angelo State comes to town.
