Eagles Post Second LSC Shutout, Defeat Sul Ross, 3-0

ALPINE, Texas - In its second conference game of the season, Oklahoma Christian dominated Sul Ross St. Wednesday afternoon, resulting in a 3-0 victory to improve to 2-0 in league play.

What Went Down 

  • The Eagles made their first appearance early in the 16' off a goal from Ruta Andrews with the help of Caid Jefferson.

  •  The second goal of the afternoon came six minutes later in the 22' leading to the 2-0 halftime score. 

  • After halftime, Oklahoma Christian did not let up, producing the third goal, this time from Zoe Ross, in the 66' off an assist from Keeley Bennett.

Notes

  • Oklahoma Christian has outscored its conference opponents 5-0 to start the season, marking the first time OC has started a conference slate 2-0 in the NCAA Division II era.

  • Jefferson continues to contribute to the Eagles offense by holding the most points on the team with three goals and three assists through six matches.

  • The Eagles strategically controlled the whole match, proven by their 12 shots on goal in comparison to Sul Ross's one shot on goal.
