OC Falls to Lubbock Christian on Final Day of LSC Challenge

EDMOND, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian dropped just its second match of the 2025 season Saturday, Sept. 20 as Lubbock Christian defeated OC on the final day of the 2025 Lone Star Conference Challenge, 25-15, 25-21, 25-22.

The Eagles offense struggled to get much of anything going outside of Annie Davis (16) and Chloe Jones (11), who combined for 27 of the maroon-and-gray's 46 kills. Camryn McGough followed the duo with seven kills without an error for a .636 attack percentage.

Following OC's second match in three days, Davis finished her final LSC Challenge recording 31 kills in just six sets of action, averaging over five kills per set, while hitting .367 over that stretch.

Trailing 12-11, the Eagles allowed a 6-0 spurt to give Lubbock Christian the momentum it needed to close the opening set on a 13-4 run for the early 1-0 lead. A quick start from LCU in set two had the Chaparrals up 5-1 as OC did not see a lead until 13-12.

From there, both teams seemed to trade points until, at 17-17, another quick three-score burst gave LCU the necessary edge. A 25-21 second set gave way to the closest frame of the match, albeit LCU scoring first for the third time on the afternoon.

The Eagles were able to move out ahead this time, however, 5-2, but the same theme reared its ugly head with a 4-0 LCU run putting the Chaparrals ahead, 9-8. Oklahoma Christian never regained the lead as LCU left the Sooner State with the third-set, 25-22 victory.

Oklahoma Christian (7-2, 0-0 LSC) will begin the conference portion of its 2025 campaign when it takes on LSC-newcomer UT Dallas in Richardson, Texas, Friday, Sept. 26 at 6 p.m.
