Women's Soccer Forces First Draw in 2-2 Tie with Newman

EDMOND, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian, despite having many offensive opportunities, were unable to pull through against Newman, leading to the 2-2 draw Saturday, Sept. 13.

What Went Down 

  • The Eagles did not waste any time putting up their first goal in the 9' by Caid Jefferson off an assist from Zoe Ross.

  • To finish up the half, Newman scored two goals within two minutes of one another, putting the Jets up on the board at the half, 2-1.

  • OC tied up the game with a goal from Ross in the 55' off an assist from Ruta Andrews.

Notes

  • Jefferson scored her first goal of the season, putting her at one goal and four shots this game.

  • Senior player, Ross, also had her first goal of the year, in addition to her assist and three shots. 

  • In the 83', Jaycie Daggs covered her keeper, Breanna Wooten, stopping Newman's forward from scoring on a breakaway, keeping the score tied.

Up Next

The Eagles will be traveling to Austin, Texas, to compete against St. Edward's Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m in their Lone Star Conference opener.
