Program-Record Four Eagles Named GCAA All-America Scholars

NORMAN, Okla. - Blas Ayesa, Joey Lewis, Oskari Nikku and Exequiel Rodriguez were recognized as 2024-25 NCAA Division II Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Tuesday, July 29.

This is the third year in a row head coach David Lynn's men's golf program has produced at least three GCAA All-America Scholars and the first time in program history with four such honorees.

To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 78.0 in NCAA Division II, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.

Of this year's four recipients, Rodriguez nabs his third GCAA All-America Scholar honor - just the second three-time such honoree in program history - while Ayesa lands on the team for the second year in a row.

Lewis, along with Rodriguez, was named College Sports Communicator Academic All-District while Nikku earns his first All-America Scholar nod after making his debut on the NCAA DII All-America First Team with his play on the course.

Oklahoma Christian heads into the 2025-26 campaign off its fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA DII National Quarterfinals while having produced the Lone Star Conference individual champion each of the last two seasons.
