RIVERSIDE, Calif. - After coming into the day two strokes free of seventh place, No. 6 Oklahoma Christian erupted with a 19-under 269, putting 12 strokes between them and seventh-place, as the Eagles sit in second heading into the final round of the 2025 NCAA Division II South Central/West Regional at 29-under 547.
The maroon-and-gray's 19-under 269 is the second lowest team round in relation to par in program history. 19-under 269 is also the lowest round of any team in any round in the 2025 regional.
Vertti Perala moved up 26 spots on the individual leaderboard with a team-best 7-under 65 in round two to find himself top-10 heading into the final round with a 36-hole score of 8-under 136. Perala's eight birdies to just one bogey had him tied for best round of anyone in the 108-player field.
Leandro Mihaich saw a similar rise on the leaderboard, moving up 46 spots with a 6-under 66 for a total score of 5-under 139. After shooting even-par 35 on the front nine, Mihaich claimed six birdies on the back-nine, including birdying the final five holes, for a bogey-less second round.
Nikku responded to his historic opening-round 9-under 63 with a 3-under 69 second round as the Tuusula, Finland, native is third heading into the final round. After being even-par through the first 13 holes, Nikku carded a birdie on three of his final five holes.
Exequiel Rodriguez was the fourth Eagle to shoot under par on Friday, using a 3-under 69 to finish day two in 73rd-place with a 1-over 145.
Joey Lewis rounded out the Eagle five-bag with an even-par 72 for a two-day 1-under 143 in 54th position.
With the top six teams advancing past Regionals, No. 6 Oklahoma Christian will look to punch its ticket to its fourth consecutive NCAA DII National Championships with Rodriguez getting OC's day started with a 4:40 p.m. CT tee time.
