Rodriguez Highlights Three All-Conference Honorees

RICHARDSON, Texas - Exequiel Rodriguez, Oskari Nikku and Leandro Mihaich were named 2024-25 All-Lone Star Conference recipients, the league announced Sunday, Apr. 13.

Rodriguez defended his title as the LSC Men's Golf Academic Player of the Year while also being named Second Team All-Conference. The now three-time All-Conference performer is ranked as the No. 43 player in NCAA Division II and No. 11 in the South Central region.

Oskari Nikku and Leandro Mihaich landed on the All-LSC First Team to make up No. 7 Oklahoma Christian's 2024-25 All-Conference selections. Nikku has logged two top-three finishes this season, including a first-place finish at the DI-tournament Nassau Intercollegiate in Glen Cove, N.Y., and is ranked as the No. 18 player in DII.

During what was his second-ever collegiate tournament win, in a field consisting of 63 Division I golfers, the senior from Tuusula, Finland, paced them all with a 54-hole score of 4-under 206. On his way to shooting 4-under, Nikku carded a second-round 5-under 65, which was the lowest single-round from any competitor for the entire event.

Nikku left the Empire State with the tournament record for lowest score ever for the event and the lowest single-round in tournament history. During his record-breaking second round, the 2024 All-American shot 13 pars and five birdies for a bogey-less round of golf. Beginning with hole 15 on the first round, Nikku played 24 straight holes of bogey-free golf, carding eight birdies and 16 pars during that stretch.

Mihaich is making his second straight appearance on the All-Conference First Team. Following a 2023-24 season that saw him win the LSC Individual Championship and be named the conference's Newcomer of the Year, the Bell Ville, Argentina, native is ranked as the No. 10 golfer in DII as the 2024 DII Jack Nicklaus Award recipient finished top-10 in eight of OC's nine tournaments this season.

"These accolades just show what I already know to be true of these three incredible student-athletes on and off the course," head coach David Lynn said. "The work they have put in for this program will be felt for many years to come. I am excited for this upcoming postseason run to see what these special individuals can accomplish."

Rodriguez, Oskari and Mihaich and No. 7 Oklahoma Christian will turn its attention to the 2025 Lone Star Conference Championships in Rockwall, Texas, Apr. 14-16. The first three rounds of stroke play will take place Monday and Tuesday with the top four teams advancing to Medal Match Play Wednesday.
